A 杏吧原创 Institute for Surgery and Engineering (VISE) team is developing an image guidance interface for the da Vinci robotic surgery system to make partial kidney removal a less invasive 鈥済old standard鈥� when small tumors are involved.

Collaboration between a mechanical engineer at 杏吧原创 and a pulmonologist at 杏吧原创 Medical Center (VUMC) has resulted in a National Institutes of Health (NIH) R01 grant that will be used to develop a steerable robotic needle to safely biopsy hard-to-reach lung nodules.
