Urgent Care

Urgent Care Counseling at the UCC provides therapeutic support for students in immediate crisis.

Urgent Care

Hours: Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Summer building renovations: Urgent care services may be temporarily relocated or offered remotely:

  • May 11–29: Student Access (Sarratt Suite 216) (closed May 25)
  • June 15–18: Student Access (closed June 19)
  • June 22–July 2: Remote only (closed July 3)

Outside of these dates, services will be available at the UCC as usual.

If you need urgent support, call 615-322-2571 and press 1 to connect with an on-call counselor. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

To request a same-day virtual appointment via Zoom with an urgent care provider, call 615-322-2571. Students must be located in Tennessee.

After Hours Care

  • Call the UCC at 615-322-2571 and press #1 to speak with an on-call counselor. 
  • Go to Psychiatric Assessment Services at . (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.; Sat-Sun, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.)

What is a Crisis?

Typical urgent care situations can include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Acute symptoms of depression, anxiety, panic, trauma, suicidal ideation
  • Death of a family member or friend
  • Recent traumatic event
  • Extreme difficulty navigating stressors, such as a break-up, roommate conflict, or poor academic performance
  • Urgent concern for a friend or family member
